Sire of Belmont Contender SAMRAAT, Noble Causeway Dies in New York

My Meadowview Farm lost the cornerstone of its breeding operation on Tuesday with the death of Noble Causeway. The 12-year-old chestnut had been suffering from laminitis in recent weeks and was withdrawn from service in early May. His condition deteriorated and he was euthanized Tuesday evening.

Wally Burleson, farm manager at Sequel Stallions New York noted, "He was a brave and determined patient, but his condition deteriorated markedly in the last 12 hours. We decided to...Read More

Gotham Winner of NOBLE Birth - Frank Mitchell

Certainly the most dramatic race of the weekend was the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct, where a trio of promising colts finished heads apart. The winner and still unbeaten in five starts was Samraat, a dead game and quite appealing competitor for Leonard Riggio’s My Meadowview Farm, which bred the colt in New York.

Samraat is also the best performer to date for My Meadowview Farm’s stallion Noble Causeway (by Giant’s Causeway). At the Keeneland...Read More

Upping the ante on his gritty one-length victory over fellow New York-bred Uncle Sigh after a protracted duel in the Withers on Feb. 1, tough-minded My Meadowview Farm homebred Samraat emerged victorious – and undefeated – following a thrilling three-way stretch-long battle with Uncle Sigh and In Trouble in the Grade 3, $500,000 Gotham at Aqueduct Racetrack on Saturday afternoon.

The five-for-five Noble Causeway colt earned a coveted 50 points under the “Road to the Kentucky...Read More

Samraat, Uncle Sigh steal show in Grade 3 Withers

Billed as a showdown between New York-bred sophomore standouts Samraat (Noble Causeway) and Uncle Sigh (Indian Charlie), the Grade 3, $250,000 Withers Stakes contested at 1 1/16 miles on the Aqueduct inner track lived up to the hype in spades as the two separated themselves from the field and dueled the entire way before Samraat drew off to win by a determined length. The Withers is a points race in the “Road to the Kentucky...Read More

Damon Runyon is all about Samraat

Samraat, a 2-year-old dark bay / brown colt by New York sire Noble Causeway, had the Aqueduct stretch all to himself Wednesday when he cruised home to an eye-popping 16 3/4-length victory in the 35th running of the $100,000 Damon Runyon Stakes, his third victory in as many career starts.
